Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 07:55PM Why support consumer action against companies involved in the construction of the wall? As far as I know no architect is involved in the planning and construction of the wall. But this fact does not mean that the wall has no architecture. So who is the architect of the wall?
Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 09:22PM This is an appeal to save an idyllic agricultural area Wadi Fuqeen, 12 km north of Bethlehem in the Hebron Hills with natural springs and delicate terraces fed by sensitive irrigation methods, that is being threatened and destroyed by encroaching Israeli settlements that discharge raw sewage into the valley. The hills are being dynamited for construction of the settlements - affecting the foundation of the village buildings. It appears another brazen attempt to make life so awful, and to create as much havoc as possible to the ecology and natural resources, that the Palestinians will leave.
Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 09:15PM The Municipality of Jerusalem intends to demolish an entire East Jerusalem neighborhood (88 homes housing 1000 residents) in the el-Bustan area of Silwan village in East Jerusalem , close to the walls of the Old City. The operation, the largest demolition of Palestinian homes in Jerusalem since 1967, is code-named “The Cherry in the Crown." The earliest houses in the neighborhood date from the 1940s and '50s, though most were built in the 1980s and early '90s on private land belonging to Silwan villagers. Some of the houses in this area were built before 1967 and another portion were built in the 1970's. The first forty houses have already received demolition orders.
